A sad anniversary

October 16, 2003, 10-years ago today: one of the saddest days of my life. I remember it more vividly than any other trivially upsetting thing in my life. The Boston Red Sox blew game 7 of the American League Championship Series to the New York Yankees.

My first year in sketch comedy

366 days ago I had my first live sketch show with Dictator’s Time Machine and it was at ImprovBoston‘s Sketch Cagematch. I’ve always liked watching sketch but it wasn’t really on my radar until I was asked to fill in an actor-role for one show. A year later and I’m still performing with them. Now… Continue reading My first year in sketch comedy

I don’t care much for (mostly) meaningless dates but I’ve thought about it recently and realized that the first two years have been pretty distinct from each other. In the first year, I performed for the first time in August and waited until October to get on… Continue reading Two Years of Stand-up Comedy

One Year in Blogging

As of today, this blog is one-year-old (or maybe because it’s still an infant we should say 12-months). It doesn’t really feel like it’s been that long, which is good because that means it didn’t end up being a chore, a fear of mine from the beginning. The raw stats: 120 posts for an average of one post… Continue reading One Year in Blogging

One Year In (Stand-up Comedy)

Today marks my 1-year anniversary of being a stand-up comedian. Not that I needed it, but Facebook even helped remind me by posting an “On This Day In 2010” status for me. It was in Worcester at the now defunct Orlando’s Comedy Jam. I was there to record Ryan Staples‘ set so he could submit… Continue reading One Year In (Stand-up Comedy)
