Vote 4 Ghost

Holiday decorations are the best. I love how much effort is put into coming up with new ideas for them year after year. Above is a photo of one of my all time favorites from Halloween 2008. It’s timely; Election Day is the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November, at most 8 days after Halloween. It’s poignant; politicians are the worst, it’s like their monsters! It’s goofy, for many reasons:

  1. The first word on this sign for the holiday known as haunting and scary is “please.”
  2. This is a re-election campaign.
  3. The campaign is for “Ghost.” It’s hard to tell if this is a particular ghost named Ghost or the concept of all ghosts (it might be racist if it’s the latter).
  4. The election is for the specific office of “State Rep.” and not Mayor, City Counselor, President, Senator, or any other more well-known position.

Bonus: There’s a second sign in the background of the photo to please vote for the Headless Horseman, also for “State Rep.”
