Sketch 301 Graduation Show

UCBOn Monday, October 19th, at 6:30 my sketch 301 class at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre (UCB) has its graduation show. This is very exciting! In the 101 and 201 level sketch classes at UCB, we learned how to write sketches using their method of “game” as the focus of a scene. (Game is an amorphous representation about what makes something funny, normally a pattern of behavior. Books have been written about it. Tricky to explain.)

Now, in level 301, we have written a show! Everyone in the class has worked on several scripts for several drafts. Our teacher/director, Caitlin Bitzegaio, helped us each pick our best sketch for the show and arranged actors from around the theater to play all the parts. One of the cool things with the show, it that there are real actors performing the material. Normally, it’s me and my friends performing them, which is a lot of fun but also decidedly less professional.

If you happen to live in the New York area, come out and check out the show!
