#baddrinks

This week’s topic for Twitter is #baddrinks. This one is intentionally very open ended. Make up a drink or a pun based on a real drink (soda, liquor, whatever) and if it’s even the littlest bit funny or clever, tweet it with the hashtag #baddrinks and we’ll have some fun.

P. S. If this blog post gets retweeted by 100 or more different people over the next 24-hours, I’ll send $40(!) to whomever I think tweets the funniest tweet with the hashtag #baddrinks on it. Also, I’ll be retweeting my favorites and posting my own in my feed.

#worsebandnames

This week’s topic for Twitter is #worsebandnames. The basic idea is to take a real band name and manipulate the name into something sillier or funnier or whatever you want! Just use the hashtag #worsebandnames and we’ll have a good time.

P. S. So far this hasn’t been working, I think the record is like 4 retweets, but if this blog post gets retweeted by 100 or more different people over the next 24-hours, I’ll send $40(!) to whomever I think tweets the funniest tweet with the hashtag #worsebandnames on it. Also, I’ll be retweeting my favorites and posting my own in my feed.

#filmlessons

I know I do a lot of these that relate to movies somehow but whatever, everyone likes and has seen movies. So, this week’s topic for Twitter is #filmlessons. These are silly, sarcastic, tongue-in-cheek, absurd, or whatever else, lessons that you’ve learned from movies. Basically take a premise or piece of a movie and make a weird generalization or exaggeration from that. Or do whatever you want, just use the hashtag #filmlessons and we’ll have a good time.

P. S. If this blog post gets retweeted by 100 or more different people over the next 24-hours, I’ll send $40(!) to whomever I think tweets the funniest tweet with the hashtag #filmlessons on it. Also, I’ll be retweeting my favorites in my feed.

P. S. What better way to celebrate the 12 year anniversary of Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace being released?

Rhode Island Comedy

There’s a brand new web site our there at rhodeislandcomedy.com which, as the address would suggest, is about comedy in Rhode Island.  It includes a calendar of events, performer listings, venue listings, and more in Rhode Island. Am I from the state of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations? No. But that won’t stop me from having my own profile page in the Just Passing Through section of the site.

#failedprequels

In honor of next week’s 12 year anniversary of Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace, the most beloved of all the Star Wars movies, this week’s trending topic is — #failedprequels. The theme is making up titles for prequels to movies that, just by the title, sound like a bad idea.

P. S. If this blog post gets retweeted by 100 or more different people over the next 24-hours, I’ll send $40(!) to whomever I think tweets the funniest tweet with the hashtag #failedprequels on it.

P. P. S. If you’re around, come out to this month’s Two Hour Mic Check as we celebrate the 12 year anniversary of Star Wars Episode I and see me put my tongue into my cheek.
